As a company focused on startup growth, we necessarily obsess over things that don’t scale. We think, for instance, founders benefit tremendously from casual, face-to-face meetings, where everyone has time to get comfortable. In fact, most of our meetings happen at little cafes where it’s easy for two people to slip into big conversations about things that can profoundly change the world. Likewise, when we create things, we like to be careful and methodical, because we believe it takes time to build things that matter.
Our dedication to founders means our time is always limited and, as such, we do not accept unsolicited pitches.
However, we understand some of you are exceptionally determined and desperately want to tell us about your project. Yet, while we love working with passionate people, we are highly protective of our time.
So, here is our view on unsolicited pitches: If we’re interested in what you’re doing, we’ll find you and reach out at some point. If, despite this, you still want to pitch us, our attention comes at a price: $300.
Why $300? Because it’s a high enough number to effectively select for seriousness, yet low enough to be accessible to most startups.
So here’s our deal: for $300, you get 20 minutes of our time. In that time, we will look over your materials, and review your pitch. If we love what you’re doing, we’ll ask you for more. If we’re not interested, we’ll tell you why. Either way, we’ll listen.
